Overview
Two girls

We have had a successful and super fun Camp Girls on the Run for two summers, and are ready for our third. Our staff and coaches have been thrilled with all the ways the campers build new friends, use new vocabulary to describe feelings and friendship qualities, and show excitement for being active and creative. We were also so impressed by how supportive, kind and helpful everyone is. All coaches and campers let their unique skills shine at Camp Girls on the Run!

Camp GOTR in 2025 will be at:

  • June 23-27. 2025:Friend's Academy, Dartmouth MA
  • July 14-18, 2025: New Bedford Public Schools

My child isn't a runner OR my child is already a skill runner. Is this program for her?

Yes! We are much more than a running program, and every participant can benefit from the experience of building confidence through accomplishment while participating in our interactive and age-appropriate lessons. Expect lots of games, talking, laughing, and processing in addition to running at each practice. And know that when we say run, we mean run, walk, skip, roll,  or push, just as long as you are moving foward!

What does the program fee include?

Although the actual cost per particpant is $408, we're able to offer the 8-week, 16-lesson program for $190 thanks to the support of generous donors and partners.  Your program registration fee includes all lesson materials, including GOTR curriculum, activity sheets, lap counters and more, a GOTR t-shirt, a bib entry into the season-ending 5K, a finisher's medal, and a GOTR water bottle.

We can't afford the program registration fee, but our child would love to participate. How does the scholarship program work?

We are committed to making Girls on the Run accessible to all who want to participate! Thanks to generous donors and community supporters, program scholarships are available to any family in need, and we can also provide appropriate running shoes and attire if necessary. The online registration form will walk you through a few questions to find the fee that is right for your family based on a sliding scale.

Do participants need to attend both days each week in order to register?

Yes! Teams spend the first few sessions bonding and each lesson builds on the previous one. Our team rosters fill up quickly and if your child is unable to attend all the sessions, please save room for a girl who can. We welcome you to join us in a future season when your schedule is better aligned.

How can I sponsor a participant for a season?

Yes! As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Girls on the Run RI relies on generous donors in order to provide more than $100,000 in program scholarships for families each year. Click here to sponsor a participant this season.
