The course for a 5K is 3.1 miles.

Yes, all current season coaches and site liaisons who want to run or walk the 5K need to register through the 5K registration page. You will receive a discount code that waives the fee.

If you plan on attending the event to cheer on your team and not run or walk the 5K, you do not need to register. (Note: Only registered 5K participants receive the 5K giveaway.)

While our fastest 5K participants may complete the course in under 25 minutes, most cross the finish line in 30-50 minutes. Everyone who participates is encouraged to walk, roll, push, run or skip at their happy pace!

As a reminder, this is a fun, celebratory, and untimed event - not a competitive race.

We strongly encourage that all program participants attend and complete the 5K, as it is the goal that they are preparing for all season long! This is the first 5K event for many participants, coaches, friends, and family members. We are in it together to cheer you on from the start to the finish line!

For safety reasons, participant must wear their 5K bib, provided at their team site.

Our 5K course is professionally managed by Rhode Races. Volunteer course marshals and campus police also monitor the course. EMTs are available in the event of a medical issue before, during, or after the 5K. We have a safety plan in place on how to respond during an emergency or incident.

Yes. Girls on the Run 5K events are for everyone! All participants can walk, run, push or roll safely and at their own happy pace.

Yes! This is encouraged and a great way to accomplish a goal together.
