On September 19, the City of Central Falls held a tree dedication ceremony at River Island Park in honor of the impact our Girls on the Run participants make on the city each year. The team planted over 100 blueberry bushes last spring while learning about food and sustainability. Central Falls Mayor Maria Rivera, Head Coach Kirk Hamel, and our Executive Director Kasha Hanflik spoke about the importance of youth leadership, wellness, and community connection. They were joined by the Central Falls Superintendent of Schools, Chief of Police,  as well as program participants from Veterans Memorial and their coaches. 

We are grateful for our long-standing partnership with Central Falls, which reflects the strong, shared commitment to Girls on the Run across families, schools, and city leadership.
