Fall Season Preview!

We are so excited to be back to a full 10 week season that incorporates all aspects of the program! At Girls on the Run Rhode Island, we inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. A key part of our program is the girl-driven and participant-led Community Impact Project. This gives the girls an opportunity to plan and execute a meaningful project that contributes to their community. It's not too late to register sites, participants, and coaches for our upcoming season. We serve participants of all abilities who identify as a girl in Rhode Island and Bristol County, MA (check out all of the locations on the interactive map on our website!). If you have any questions about registration, please contact Elizabeth McGann at elizabeth.mcgann@girlsontherun.org.

We recently held our National Coach Training for our new coaches this Fall. During the training session, our coaches learned how to embrace the unique and joyful GOTR spirit, utilize coaching strategies to lead team sessions, and implement the curriculum with confidence. With only 2 weeks to go until our first sessions, our coaches are ready to inspire their team through the unique curriculum!

As we prepare for our fun-filled 10 week season, let’s look back on our incredible week of Camp GOTR this summer! This July, Girls on the Run Rhode Island had our first ever Camp GOTR, a week long summer camp for elementary school girls of all abilities who identify as a girl. The girls explored their creativity and strengthened their abilities to identify, regulate, and celebrate both their emotions as well as the emotions of others. Games and activities kept them moving throughout the day, with afternoons filled with fun camp games, water play, and community outreach. By the end of the week our campers had a blast and couldn’t wait to jump into the Fall season.

What other after school program combines physical movement, social-emotional skill-development AND community impact projects? At practice, girls are inspired to form new friendships, participate in team discussions, have fun running, and also learn the value of giving back. Don’t miss your chance to sign your girl up for a one-of-kind program that shines a light on what it means to be healthy and positive. She deserves it! Click here to register today!
